As the Senior Political Director for Vote Mama, Kristy leads the organization’s political strategy, endorsement process and national partnerships to increase the political power of moms. Kristy has worked to elect Democratic candidates across the country, having joined her first campaign in 2009. In 2014, Kristy ran for office herself and won a competitive seat to the Michigan House of Representatives, where she served Western Wayne County for six years before being term-limited. While in the Michigan legislature, Kristy championed policy efforts on reproductive health care, environmental protections, pay equity, and public education, and was elected Chair of the Progressive Women’s Caucus by her colleagues. She lives in Michigan with her children and husband.
