Media Relations Manager

Marcus is the Media Relations Manager at Vote Mama, where he leads the organization’s earned media strategy and works to elevate the voices of moms and caregivers in politics. Since joining Vote Mama as a Communications Associate, he has secured coverage and mentions globally and in national, state, and local outlets. He first worked on Cory Booker’s 2020 presidential campaign and later served as National Communications Director for the collegiate arm of the Democratic National Committee, helping mobilize young voters nationwide in support of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and the presidential transition. He then spent nearly three years leading the digital and social media program at Emerge, the nation’s leading organization recruiting and training women to run for office. Born and raised in Upstate South Carolina, Marcus holds an M.A. in Political Communication from American University and resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area. In his free time, he enjoys gaming, attending concerts, and exploring new countries.
