Marcus is the Media Relations Manager at Vote Mama, where he leads and manages the organization’s press outreach. Marcus previously worked as the Communications Associate at Vote Mama. At the age of 19, he became the youngest member of the South Carolina Democratic Party’s Executive Committee. He has volunteered for congressional campaigns and community leaders and served on the South Carolina team for Cory Booker’s 2020 presidential campaign. Marcus was later elected as the National Communications Director of the collegiate arm of the Democratic National Committee, mobilizing college students up and down the ballot to elect President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and support the presidential transition. Before coming to Vote Mama, Marcus worked for almost three years at Emerge, the nation’s premier organization that recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office. Marcus was born in Greenville, SC, and raised in the small town of Williamston. He currently resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area and has an M.A. in Political Communication from American University. In his free time, he loves gaming, going to concerts, and visiting new countries abroad.
